Oricoco is an importer and distributor of bulk cocopeat and manufacturer of cocopeat based growing mediums.
Oricoco cocopeat products and growing mediums are natural, organic and environmentally friendly products, produced from aged and mature brown coconut husks.
We supply wholesale bulk cocopeat to commercial farming operations as well as ready to use cocopeat growing mediums to the retail market. We supply supply home gardeners from our factory shop. We offer a few select products to online buyers.
What is cocopeat
Cocopeat (also known as coco peat, coco coir or cocus) is an environmentally friendly and sustainable organic growing medium produced from the husk of the coconut. It consists of cocopeat pith particles and coir fibres.
Cocopeat has an excellent wettability and water retention capacity and holds almost 1,000% its own weight in water. No wetting agents are needed when Oricoco cocopeat products are used and water logging and dry spots in the root zone are minimal. The high water holding capacity results in water conservation.
Coco fibres increase the air-water ratio (air filled porosity) in the medium which cause excellent oxygenation. This promotes strong and early root growth and better crop yields. The high absorbance of water without losing its aeration values lead to a stable PH, high nutrient holding capacity and lower fertilizer needs.
During the production process the husk is washed, processed and dried whereafter it is compressed into blocks for easy transportation. Stringent standardized procedures are followed at each factory to ensure that there are no quality variations in the final product giving the grower 100% control and confidence with the growing medium.
Oricoco products are excellent growing mediums and soil conditioners that can be applied directly or mixed with any type of soil. It is specifically sought after for soil-less culture in green houses (tomatoes, cucumbers, cannabis etc) and hydroponics applications.
